Having used low voltage lighting for a number of years in our own applications, we at OnSolar decided to bring some new products to the market which offered a high level of quality and efficiency. We believe our lamps offer the most natural and useful light colouration available for practical, every day 12 volt lighting projects.

After years of researching and testing various DC lighting options, we found many of the products offered were just not good enough for serious off grid or 12V DC power applications. We needed to overcome problems such as poor efficiency, poor life expectancy and poor colour rendering. We are confident that our lamps have met and indeed exceed our specification and requirements.

We love the whole concept of low energy, low voltage DC lighting and being able tap into the free and endless power available from the Sun and Wind to power our DC lighting and other circuits. Using 12V CFL & CCFL lamps direct with a DC power supply is very efficient with minimal 'loss' or wasted power. Using an inverter to provide 240V AC lighting from your DC supply / battery set is not so efficient and usually incurs a 5-10% loss (wasted energy).
